Sgt Glen Simpson – Kalat Sculpture in Iraq – Heavy Price of Liberty

The Main Press follow a policy of " if it bleeds, it leads. "  You have not seen this sculpture before because people may not see it as newsworthy.  Kalat is a sculptor who was forced to fashion statues of Saddam Hussein, including some that have been destroyed.

This statue of Sgt Glen Simpson will be heading to Fort Hood, where it will become a part of a larger memorial project at the 4th infantry division museum.  This Kalat Statue depicts a United States Soldier kneeling at the site of a fallen comrade in arms, with an Iraqi girl trying to comfort him.  Every American ought to see this memorial statue.

The media does not speak of this statue

ARNEWS says the sculptor's name is Kalat.

He was forced to fashion statues of Saddam Hussein including some that were later destroyed by U.S. military explosives.

The bronze pieces of the statues were sent to Kalat and he made the memorial using a picture of a U.S. soldier, 1st Sgt. Glen Simpson, kneeling as a model.

According to ARNEWS, Kalat worked with another artist on the Saddam Hussein statutes, but designed and fashioned the U.S. model on his own.

It's on display in Iraq and is destined to eventually be on display at Fort Hood, where it will become part of a larger memorial project at the 4th Inf. Div. museum.

Kalat worked on this memorial night and day for several months.

To the left of the kneeling soldier is a  small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort as he mourns the loss of his comrade in arms.

Do you know why we don't hear about this in the news?

Because it is heartwarming and praise worthy..

The media avoids it because it does not have the shock effect.
